You're Everything I Wanted in a Gal was written for my fiancee, Carole Carpenter, just after our engagement on June 23, 1984, and presented to her on her birthday the following July 11th. The piece is in a popular Gershwinesque style, one particularly loved by the woman who became my wife the following December 22nd. I later orchestrated the piece for the Bloomington Pops.
